Which foundation for combination skin?

Hellooo... How are you doing? Me - I am on the look out for a tinted moisturizer namely the Laura Mercier because I am currently experiencing clogged pores and breakouts from my regular sunblock.

I am a long-term user of Clinique's 1-2-3 Basic Skin Care range and had been using the Clinique Derma White Bright C Stick Makeup (stick foundation) since it was launched in 2010 (now discontinued) with no issues.

Unfortunately, it's not been doing well in our hot and humid weather. Next, I tried Clinique Super City Block Ultra Protection SPF 40 for Unisex but that's feeling rather heavy too after basic skin care.

As a result, I've got a really oily T-zone by mid-day!

After reading Paula's Choice's tips for choosing the right foundation, I now know that people with combination skin like me should: a) stay away from stick foundations like the Clinique Derma White Vit C and also a Bobbi Brown one I used for a while and b) look for tinted moisturizers like the Clinique Super City Block SPF 40.

Reading the collated Amazon reviews on TheVenusFace for the best tinted moisturizers for oily skin, I find out that I should find either: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20, Fawn, 1.7 Ounce

OR Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, Oil Free, Fawn

There's a word of caution: the oil-free one is best for really oily skins thus I need to determined if my skin is that oily first. Anyway, I'd like to finish off this blogs post with some of the YouTube reviews I watched:
(I have exactly the same problem as Alejandra describes!) - she shares that the oil-free version dries up REALLY FAST.

(Alexandra McCormick lists out a number of tinted moisturizers, BB and CC creams that she likes)

- the first one she reviews is the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Tinted Cream Gel SPF30 (what a mouthful!), which is cheaper than Laura Mercier.

Are you experiencing this strange oiliness from your foundations/sunblock too? Have you tried either the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer or Bare Minerals?
