What's a capsule wardrobe?

Do you know what's a capsule wardrobe?
The term "capsule wardrobe" was coined by Susie Faux, owner of the West End boutique "Wardrobe",[6] in the 1970s to refer to a collection of essential items of clothing that would not go out of fashion, and therefore could be worn for multiple seasons.

In her book, Wardrobe: Develop Your Style and Confidence Faux suggests that a woman's (or a girl's) capsule wardrobe contain at least "2 pairs of trousers, a dress or a skirt, a jacket, a coat, a knit, two pairs of shoes and two bags".

For 2019, I want to focus on fashion :)

After due diligence on various beauty blogs, vlogs and etc, I bought both the pearls and the Light Diffusing Perfecting Primer, both of which are GREAT!

To be honest, I wear light makeup (if any) so my skin protests if I slap on anything that's heavy. After my moisturizer, I squeezed a tiny drop of the primer and smoothed it all over - it was easy to apply and is not sticky.

It's a great primer (or base) because it's light diffusing in the sense that my face had a luminous glow to it - just what I need for a formal dinner or event.

I also like the light floral scent, which isn't too overpowering since it's applied all over your face.

While it's a setting powder, I use it like a sort of finishing powder for my T-zone and it works well.

I have used compact powders by Clinique and Estee Lauder but somehow they seem to clog up my pores but Guerlain does not give me that feeling so it's worth the price if you are not a heavy user.

 

I love how easy it is to use the pearls because all you need is a light swish over it with a foundation brush and then sweep it all over your face.

How to choose Foundation

This blog post is about choosing the correct shade of your foundation, especially if you're into liquid or stick foundations and you have yellow, brown or dark skin tones.

Looking at the shade palette by Becca, I would choose Ginger/Tan/Spice depending on summer or winter. 

If you see the photo below by Becca, you can see how the different shades of foundation appear on different shades of skin or different girls' wrists.

TIP: When you are testing out foundation at the drugstore or at the beauty counter, choose the one that's melts into the skin (it's almost invisible or it's a shade lighter) than the shade of your skin on your wrist.
